If you were one of the lucky few to score yourself an NES Classic before the holiday season and have exhausted playing the included 30 games, an NES Classic hack has been released that allows users to add even more NES games to the system. As with all mods, hacks, and the like, there is a small chance that you may end up bricking your NES Classic, so consider yourself warned.
The software hack was posted on a Russian forum and requires no hardware mods. Of course, it was quickly translated into English and posted on pastebin. As noted above, this may or may not work and so far has been confirmed to work on NES Classic systems with a uboot md5 of b13b538f6b7c86623ceea69c456d4eb5, 8ce1857653874e8f0cd3fe68abe1bb4a, and 9b8046b47c947d9fa322976c038003e0.
Users on reddit have confirmed having success with using this method and adding additional roms to their systems. Users are also finding additional options including the ability to add a 2P indicator to two-player games.
Another video has also surfaced combining this method with another which uses a tool to assist you in adding additional NES roms to your NES Classic. Again, use at your own risk.
