You can’t argue that Microsoft doesn’t take feedback from their Xbox One users seriously and have implemented numerous changes to Xbox One and Windows gaming based on that feedback. The upcoming Creators Update is no different and some of the features coming to the Xbox One and Windows 10 were outlined by Mike Ybarra, Head of Platform Engineering for Xbox.

“These updates are about four key themes: Streaming, Performance, People, and Competition,” write Ybarra. “We’ll make it easier to stream than ever before, by making Beam a feature on Xbox One and Windows 10. We’ll improve the performance of your PC games through the all new Windows Game Mode. And we’ll release Arena on Xbox Live, where you can play in organized tournaments or create your own, making eSports available for everyone.”

As mentioned by Ybarra, Beam — which was recently purchased by Microsoft — will be coming to the Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs. Streaming can be started by pressing Windows + G on Windows 10, or from a single button press from inside the Xbox Guide.

Another previously discussed feature, Game Mode, will be hitting Windows Insider builds this week. Game Mode will further optimize Windows 10 PCs for increased gaming performance. Insiders will see some of the visual elements first with the fully operational feature coming in future builds soon. The Xbox One will also be receiving an update that will make it faster to complete common tasks by pressing the Xbox button on a controller to bring up the Guide as an overlay over whatever game you’re playing or media you’re watching. It will also be able to record, adjust, and access GameDVR captures from the guide, and there will also be a new Achievement tracking overly, Gamerscore Leaderboard, new Cortana design, and controls for the background music feature added to the Xbox One update.

Xbox Live has always been about being social, and there will be some updates to make it easier to connect with your friends through the service.

Finally, something that was announced last year will finally be coming to Xbox Live — Arenas. This feature will allow anyone to create their own tournaments, and it will start by supporting World of Tanks and Killer Instinct. Tournaments from organizers like ESL and FACEIT will also be coming through the Arena’s feature.
