Rumored Samsung Galaxy Note8 code name and model number revealed

The Samsung Galaxy Note7 fiasco is done and finally behind us so we can all forget about that. Now we can move on to the Galaxy Note8 that Samsung has stated will be coming out this year. Rumors are popping up with more information about the Galaxy Note8 and previously there was a rumor that the code name would be “Baikal,” which is a lake in Siberia. We’re now hearing that might not be the case.

New rumors have come out stating that the code name for the Note8 will be “Great.” Last year’s Note7 was dubbed “Grace” but then it wasn’t so graceful, but maybe Samsung is on to something this year that may make the Note8 great. Or maybe they’re just feeling lucky about the code name. Furthermore, the model number has also been rumored to be SM-N950F (international model number). Samsung will be skipping from N930 to N950 as the number 4 is considered unlucky in South Korea and I don’t think any of us are ready for another Note series problem.

There may be Note7s coming back into this world, but would only as refurbished hardware and only offered in Samsung’s home country of South Korea. With a bunch of Note7 components probably stocked up in some warehouse, it’s good that they’ll be put to good use in refurbished hardware. If this does end up happening, the model numbers will still stay the same but will end with an “R” (SM-N935R) for refurbished. We don’t know yet until this actually happens, but for those that still liked the Note7, you may just get it back If you live in South Korea.

It’s still too early for us to be thinking these rumors will be true, so you know to take this with a grain of salt until Samsung says something. What are your thoughts about Samsung’s code name for the Note8? Does “Great” sound right to you? Let us know by leaving your comments down below or on Google+, Facebook, or Twitter.
