Design

While most LED light bulbs vastly resemble a standard incandescent light bulb, the SANSI LED light bulbs have a more vented look to them. In the case of the A19 bulb, the bottom two-thirds is constructed of this vented white housing with the top third encased in a two-tiered clear plastic housing. Underneath this housing are two circular rows of LED lights.

The vented white housing on the much larger E26 light bulb, on the other hand, covers the bottom three-quarters of the light bulb. The top quarter of the bulb has a ceramic ring around the outer edge which is split into three sections. Each section has a frosted plastic cover covering the LED lights underneath.

The SANSI LED light bulbs have a solid construction with vented design.

One thing to note: both bulbs come with a warning that they are not suitable for fully enclosed fixtures. While this isn’t a concern for most users, it’s definitely something to keep in mind if you are looking to replace light bulbs inside enclosed fixtures. The bulbs are also rated for use in environments between -25ºC (-13ºF) and 45ºC (113ºF) as long as they are not directly exposed to water.

Performance

As far as performance is concerned, both light bulbs work as you’d expect them to. The 15W A19 bulb, with its 5000K Daylight colour is super bright and SANSI claims it puts out the same amount of light as a 150W light bulb. While I didn’t have regular 150W light bulbs to test, I don’t doubt SANSI’s claims as this is one seriously bright light bulb. Thankfully though, the 15W LED light bulb is dimmable and the dimming functionality also works as one would expect. Even though the design has the LED lights at the top portion of it, the bulb worked just fine in the various lamps, lighting fixtures, and ceiling fans we tested it in.

The 15W bulb (left) has a clear top design while the 30W floodlight bulb has a frosted top design.

The 30W LED light bulb is even brighter, putting out the equivalent of a 250W floodlight. Of course, this is more suited for the garage, warehouse, or other area requiring much more light. One of these light bulbs definitely brightens up a garage much brighter than your standard light bulbs, and the area of lighting is nicely diffused by the frosted covers on the top of the bulb.

Price/Value

Even though they offer pretty big savings on energy costs, LED light bulbs aren’t always the cheapest. The SANSI LED light bulbs are no exception have an MSRP of $39.99USD for the 15W A19 version and $49.99USD for the 30W version. In typical Amazon fashion, both are currently on sale — the 15W A19 for $23.99 and the 30W for $29.99.

While these are very high-quality bulbs, light bulbs with this wattage and equivalent can be found for anywhere from $9.99 to upwards of $50, which puts these towards the higher end of the price spectrum. That being said, SANSI has offered up a few discounts to bring the price down for our readers. The coupons, listed below, apply to single bulb purchases only and not 3- or 4-packs and expire on April 30th.

The discount codes are as follows:

These savings still put these bulbs on the mid- to the high-price range but they are solidly constructed bulbs.

Wrap-up

LED bulbs not only reduce your energy bill but also last much longer than standard incandescent light bulbs. If you’re looking for some decent, super-bright, high quality LED light bulbs for around the house or in the garage, you may want to consider the SANSI line with their solid construction and design.
