Simplicity is the order of the day with this mount. Nothing overly fancy or outrageous but the materials used here are very high quality. The base has a sticky (washable) back with a lever that gives it suction to stick to your table. The arm that holds the magnet mount has a nice cutout for your cables to pass through. The optional Apple Watch arm (which I did not use) mounts to the back through existing screw mounts. Overall it’s a simple yet effective design and is built very well and feels very premium.
Ease of Use
The hardest thing you’ll have to do here is to mount the optional Apple Watch arm. Otherwise, it’s pretty simple to use. Just find the size magnet you want to use, place it on the back of your phone or inside your case, then lock the mount on a desk or table and put your phone on the arm. Very easy but there are detailed graphical instructions should you need them.
The base itself is solid and the sticky back has just the right amount of tackiness to it, plus you can wash it to refresh the tackiness. The locking mechanism works great and adds to the stickiness helping to keep the mount solidly in place. I was most impressed with the magnets. I’m not one for putting magnets on the back of my phones and my UAG case is kind of bumpy so I was afraid placing the magnet inside the case wouldn’t be effective. To my surprise, the magnet was strong enough to make it through the case and the raised ridges in the case and it holds the phone with ease. I think this mount is a solid performer and probably could even be used as a car mount.
The kit sent to us for review included the Apple Watch arm and is priced at $44.99USD which is pretty pricey for a phone mount. There’s a lot of great things to love about this mount and I think there is value there. Ultimately it will be up to you to decide if you want to part with $44.99USD. You could opt for the one without the Apple Watch arm and save a little more than $5USD.
A solid mount, dependable and does exactly what you need it to and nothing more.
