Console gaming geeks feast your eyes on the XSTATION

, ,

Do you own an Xbox or a PlayStation? Do you wish you owned them both or perhaps wish they were merged together? Look no further than the XSTATION. The XSTATION combines two of the most popular gaming consoles together into one unit. From the creator of the Playbox, a similar idea but with a screen, the XSTATION is a legit full Xbox One and PS4 in one. Creator Ed Zarick crammed the guts of both systems into one enclosure with the ability to switch between the two systems. It appears he’s also figured a good way to keep the systems cool, which was a concern of mine when I first saw this. Check out Zarick’s video walkthrough of the project below.

I started this project about 2 weeks ago with the idea in mind that I wanted to have both of my home gaming consoles put into one housing. I was not sure how I was going to accomplish it, but I went ahead and tore apart both of my systems and started playing what felt like a puzzle on how I could fit all the parts together inside the smallest case possible. After I got the right idea of how I wanted it laid out, I went to cutting acrylic and ordering parts. After about 2 weeks and some problem solving, the XSTATION was born!

What’s impressive is that he was able to get all the guts from both systems into an enclosure not much bigger than both factory enclosures combined. Furthermore, the enclosure he made is pretty damn nice for a DIY enclosure, complete with logo even. As Zarick says in his video, this is not a project that is being sold but maybe he’d reconsider if he got enough requests.
