If we’re learning anything from the latest major security breach in the United States it’s that no one is immune. That’s right, no one is immune to the reach of hackers. From celebrities who have had embarrassing photos leaked to major Hollywood studios who lose scripts to blockbuster television shows. Even government entities like the IRS aren’t immune to the reach of hackers nor are security companies like LastPass. Even CEO’s like Jack Dorsey aren’t immune and neither are major YouTube channels like WatchMojo.
In this new world of technological advances, the criminals are advancing right along with us. Sometimes at a faster rate. There is no silver bullet to stopping hackers and cybersecurity criminals. We can really only impede their progress and close one door after another. We’re all vulnerable and we’re only as protected as the ones who hold our personal data make us.
Companies like Apple, Google, and Microsoft all hold terabytes of data about us and we have to trust that they’re implementing the best security solutions they can buy. The recent Equifax hack has shone the light on the fact that not all companies are doing it right. Cybersecurity is an evolving business and it evolves fast. The folks over at CBTS have put together an infographic showing just how we put ourselves at risk every day and how security measures can help protect us. Unfortunately, the companies that are holding our personal data have to be on their toes 24/7 in order to protect that data. Check out the full infographic below for some more insights.
