With parents looking for easy ways to make their children’s birthdays even more special, Netflix has announced Birthdays On-Demand. The new service includes 14 videos with some of your child’s favourite characters providing special birthday wishes.
A global Netflix survey recently found that 55% of parents wish they could opt-out of “the birthday party madness.” Key reasons included:
- It’s stressful – 67% of parents say they feel the pressure to be “party perfect”
- It’s expensive – 54% wish it didn’t cost as much and on average, parents are spending roughly $200 USD to make their kids’ birthdays perfect
- It’s time-consuming – 42% wish it didn’t take as much time and parents around the world spend a median of 10 hours preparing for their kids’ birthdays
- Pinterest peer pressure – almost half (44%) of parents agree that there’s a social media-fueled competition to throw your kids the best birthday party
By searching “birthday,” “birthdays,” “Birthdays On-Demand” or “birthday songs” on Netflix, parents can access featurettes showcasing stars including King Julien, Barbie, Beat Bugs, My Little Pony, LEGO Friends, and Pokémon singing rousing renditions of the birthday song directly to their kids from the TV or other screens.
The current list of available birthday songs to choose from includes: DreamWorks All Hail King Julien, Barbie, Beat Bugs, DreamWorks Dinotrux, Las Leyendas, LEGO Friends, LEGO Ninjago, Luna Petunia, My Little Pony, Pokemon, Project Mc2, Skylanders Academy, DreamWorks Trollhunters, and Word Party.
