Earlier this year Plex acquired video news service Watchup and now the company is introducing Plex News. Plex News is a new customizable and personalized streaming news content option for your Plex services. Plex is already a powerful media hub for all of your local and shared content, why not throw a bit of personalized news content into the mix. Here are the key points to Plex News:
- Plex now serves up important and personalized streaming news content from national, international, and local news sources via 190 providers (and growing), including CBS News, CNN, A+J, IGN, Cheddar, Mic, and more.
- Plex News is free and requires no subscription or hefty setup and no Plex Media Server – simply sign up for Plex, download the app(s)/platforms of your choice, and begin to customize your news feed.
- For current Plex users, it’s the perfect compliment to your personal media libraries and Live TV/DVR content.
- Currently available on Android TV, Apple TV, Roku, Fire TV, Android mobile, and iOS, with other platforms to follow.
