TMZ says they have been in touch with the Tom Petty “camp” but have not gotten any sort of statement from them, which is totally understandable. For now,  we’ll all wait for an update.

Petty’s Americana Rock has been a staple of many and the man has held high praise amongst many musicians. In the 90’s he was part of the supergroup The Traveling Wilburys which included Jeff Lynn, George Harrison, Roy Orbison, and Bob Dylan. So as you can see, the man was in good company. Prayers go out to the entire Petty family. We’ll update this post as we hear back and as we can.
