Design

At a glance, the BlitzWolf BW-ES2 Dual Dynamic Driver Earphones look pretty much like most other earbuds out there. A 1.2m cable which ends in a 3.5mm jack on one end splits off to the two earbuds with a multi-function remote unit on the right wire. The only branding on the headphones is located on the end with the 3.5mm jack.

Upon looking closer, the BW-ES2 earbuds themselves are more oval shaped when looking from the back. A circle stamped with L or R lets you know which ear they should go in, and the main housing contains the 6mm dynamic drivers. Attached to the back of this is a soft earplug which helps keep the headphones securely in your ears. Just in front of the main housing is a partially translucent smoke grey acoustic front cavity to which the soft silicone ear tips attach to.

The BlitzWolf BWES2 Dual Dynamic Driver Earphones have a bit of a different look to them.

The earphones themselves are pretty comfortable and light and do fit rather securely when worn. I had no issues with feeling like they were going to fall out while wearing them.

The remote features three buttons for controlling volume, song playback, and call control. Interestingly enough, the end buttons control your volume while the middle button is used to play, pause, and skip tracks, as well as answer or reject an incoming call. While it works well enough, I did wonder why the volume and skip track control wasn’t assigned to the same buttons.

The earphones also come with three different sizes of ear tips, a velcro strip for cable management, a cable management clip, and a hard shell carrying case. While our review sample came in black, you can also get a red variation which features a red cable and buttons on the in-line remote control unit.

Sound Quality

There used to be a time when purchasing “affordable” earbuds meant sacrificing sound quality. Thankfully, that is not the case with the BlitzWolf BW-ES2 earphones. The 6mm drivers, even though they are small, offer a balanced listening experience with enough bass to suit my tastes. Everything from rock to hip-hop and classical was enjoyable, and I was actually surprised at the sound coming from these considering the price point. There are very few sets of headphones that I’ve found offer the sound I like out of the box without having to enable an equalizer, and these are definitely on that list.

They are also quite loud, and when at full volume they are still pretty clear and crisp, however, the sound does begin to get muddy — especially with an equalizer enabled. That being said, you shouldn’t need to have the volume up that loud for any reason and I found that 50-60% was about the maximum I could listen comfortably at.

Call Quality

The inline remote also features a microphone for use during phone calls. Even though the remote is a few inches below your chin, during our test call the other party could hear us pretty clear without having to hold the unit closer to my mouth.

Price/Value

With an MSRP of $25.99USD, the BlitzWolf BW-ES2 Dual Driver Earphones are definitely affordable. If you’re looking for extra savings, the earphones are currently available on Banggood for $22.99USD. Given the sound quality and included accessories, you’re definitely getting your money’s worth and more with these earbuds.

Wrap-up

The BlitzWolf BW-ES2 Dual Driver Earphones are a very affordable, great balanced sounding pair of earphones with their 6mm dual driver design.
