FM7 #Forzathon November 23-December 7: Speed is Key!

Happy Thanksgiving to all our U.S. readers! Hopefully you had a chance to complete the inaugural Forza Motorsport 7 #Forzathon event. If you haven’t there’s still time as it looks like the previous challenges are still live, giving you a bit more time to snag the ’95 Nissan Nismo GT-R LM, ’69 Ford Mustang Boss 302 FE, and Astronaut Modern driver gear. The FM7 #Forzathon November 23-December 7th event adds a couple more challenges and the chance to snag the 2012 Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG S Coupe FE and a 1957 Porsche 356A Speedster.

This #Forzathon event started on November 23rd at 9:30 a.m. PT and closes at (presumably) 9:30 am PT on December 7th (we’re assuming the time). Unlike the Forza Horizon 3 #Forzathon events, it looks like these ones will be running for two weeks at a time.

So just what are these “challenges” that you have to complete? Check out the complete task list and rewards below for the newly added challenges:

  • Speed is Key: Complete all Challenges to receive the 2016 Mercedes-AMG C 63 S Coupe FE (Forza Edition)
    • Go at least 180 mph on Homestead Miami
    • Complete 6 laps of Daytona
    • Complete 3 races in a Forza P1 Division car
    • Win a race in a HyperCar Division car
  • To the Finish Line: Complete all Challenges to receive the 1957 Porsche 356A Speedster
    • Set a Drift Score of 15,000 on a single Lap in a Porsche
    • Complete 3 Races in a Porsche
    • Win a race on the Nürburgring GP in a Porsche

Speed is Key isn’t too bad to complete. If you head to the Homestead Miami and select the speedway track with a fast car (P-class 2015 McLaren P1 GTR works great), you should have no issues hitting 180mph (that’s 290km/h for those racing in metric) by your second or third lap. For the second challenge, the Tri-Oval track on Daytona is the shortest one… blast through 6 or 7 laps and this one should pop. As with last week, and we haven’t had a chance to test it yet, but you should be able to pick a Forza P1 Division car, then set a timed race to 0:30. Once the timer runs out, you should get credit for that race, rinse and repeat twice more to complete this challenge. The last challenge you’ll actually have to win a race but that shouldn’t be too hard if you head back to a short track and set it to an appropriate number of laps. Of course, setting Drivatars to inexperienced also helps if you need it.

To the Finish Line… already not looking forward to this one as the first challenge requires you achieving a Drift Score of 15,000 on a single Lap in a Porsche. Personally, I hate drifting in these games, so my best advice is to pick a fairly long track with plenty of corners to get your drift on. There have been a few different reports on ways to do this but due to a h/t from my buddy Ed, I headed into Rivals, Drift mode, chose the Dubai course, turned traction and stability controls off, and after getting 16,000+ on a CLEAN lap, the progress registered after a game restart. Note, you can still bump the sides of the track in a drift race for it to be considered clean, rewinding will flag it as a dirty lap. Once you get past that one, again, the timed race for 0:30 on Free Play in a Porsche should quickly get you past the second challenge. Finally, make sure you have enough laps to ensure a win in a Porsche on the Nürburgring GP track (optionally adjust Drivatar level as well to make it easier).

There have been some posts noting that challenges don’t pop all the time and some users have found that quitting the game and restarting it popped the previous challenges or complete a lap on a Free Play race after completing a Forzathon challenge also causes it to pop.
