Xbox One Alpha Ring Insider Program members recently received a new preview update which includes a number of features Microsoft is testing out. One of those is a new “Do not disturb” mode. Unfortunately, it’s not that apparent how to enable the Xbox One “Do not disturb” mode but all it takes is a few simple steps.
First, press the Xbox Home button on your controller to launch the Quick Guide. Next, tab over all the way to the left until your profile is highlighted.
Select your profile to bring up the Profile screen in the Quick Guide.
Finally, scroll down to where it says “Appear online” and select “Do not disturb.” Easy peasy!
When you’re status is set to “Do not disturb,” those on your Friends and Followers lists should see you as “Busy” — even if they’re not part of the Xbox Insider Program. Notifications will also be suppressed when this mode is active. Once you know where to find the option, as you can see, it’s not that difficult to get there with a few button presses. However, it’d be nice if it came up on the Quick Guide somewhere for easier and quicker access to switch it on mid-game in case you forgot.
As we previously reported, other new features that are rolling out to Insider Program members in the Alpha Ring include including more options for auto-shutdown as well as theme switching between the light and dark theme at set times during the day.
