Acer announced some new Chromebooks and the Chromebox CXI3 overnight. Chromebooks have become a delight for students and educators for their low cost and easy software maintenance. The Chromebox CXI3 is aimed at both the education field and commercial customers. For example, library’s could probably save a good amount of money and maintenance by using a Chromebox setup for user-shared computers rather than PCs.

Here’s the rundown of what Acer announced early this morning.

The Acer Chromebook 11 C732

A durable Chromebook that’s ideal for education and commercial customers. Highlights include:

  • Lots of durability features including IP41-rated, drop tested, spill-resistant keyboard and compliance with stringent U.S. Military Standard (MIL-STD 810G)
  • Two USB 3.1 Type-C ports for fast data transfer, charging, display output
  • Long 12-hour battery life and Fan-less design
  • This line will also offer optional 4G LTE provides connectivity on-the-go – but we are not announcing any configurations with LTE for N. America at this time. Those will be announced when select regions bring them to market.
  • Available to education and commercial customers in North America beginning in March with prices starting at $299.99USD for touch models and $279.99USD for non-touch models.

For education and commercial customers (announced with Chromebook 11 C732 above). Highlights:

  • Provides excellent performance with 8th Gen Intel® Core™ processors.
  • First-rate connectivity including a USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 1 port, five USB Type-A ports supporting USB 3.1 and USB 2.0 depending on model, one HDMI port, one Gigabit Ethernet port, and a MicroSD card reader.
  • Pricing and availability are not offered at this time but will be announced when regions bring this device to market.

A convertible with 360-degree hinges that allow it to be used in four modes. Highlights:

  • Two USB 3.1-Type C ports for fast data transfer, charging, display output
  • Front wide field-of-view webcam and optional rear webcam for use in tablet mode
  • Wacom EMR on select configurations
  • Up to 10 hours of battery life
  • Will be sold via our retail channels, available in North America starting in March priced starting at $349USD.
