Check out the all-new Venom teaser trailer

It’s been a good week for comic book movie and television show trailers. From Jessica Jones to the untitled Deadpool film, we’ve picked up some pretty good looks at upcoming sequels. And we’re seeing no signs of stopping as the Venom teaser trailer for the new movie was just released.

As is with most teaser trailers, it doesn’t show too much. You know what, I’ll let you check it out real quick. Here it is in all its splendor and glory:

Like I said, it doesn’t show a lot. But it’s enough to get this reader excited for the movie. A lot of folks have been apprehensive of the Sony enterprise, especially given its last attempts at the Spider-Man franchise, but this should settle some of those doubts. Of course, we’ll have to wait and see what the full movie encompasses.

Tom Hardy is ever present in the trailer, which makes sense as he’s Eddie Brock aka Venom. We do get our first view of the symbiote, though, not on Hardy. We also get to see Hardy go all Eleven from Stranger Things on folks. There’s also our first look at Michelle Williams as Ann Weying, albeit, a brief look. Again, the joy of teaser trailers. For those who haven’t read the comics — or haven’t been paying attention — Weying is Eddie Brock’s ex-wife, and eventually takes on the role She-Venom. Though, I’d suspect we won’t see that in this movie.

The movie has an October 5 release date. Just in time for Halloween. The movie won’t feature Spider-Man. It’s also being pegged as a sci-fi horror film. That being said, the October release date seems like a perfect fit.

Did the Venom teaser trailer get you excited for the movie? Are you excited to see Tom Hardy embrace the symbiote lifestyle? Tell us what you think in the comment section below, or on Google+Twitter, or Facebook.
