Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S9 and S9+, are available today in over 70 countries around the world. In addition, Samsung has announced a partnership to bring Disney characters as AR Emojis for the new devices, starting with Mickey and Minnie Mouse.
“By extending our characters and stories to new digital platforms, we are creating daily Disney experiences everywhere our audience goes, and we are able to draw in new generations of fans,” said John Love, Vice President, Apps at Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media. “The Disney AR Emojis offer an innovative approach to content for the Galaxy S9 and S9+ and a fun way to bring magic to messages.”
More Disney characters from movies including The Incredibles, Zootopia, and Frozen will roll out to the AR Emoji mode on the Galaxy S9 and S9+ smartphones.
We previously covered the specs of Samsung’s latest smartphones, but here’s the low down on some of the new technology and features:
The devices’ redesigned cameras feature a Dual Aperture lens that adapts to its environment to snap stunning shots in any light; an innovative Super Slow-mo video function, which allows users to capture everyday moments in epic detail; and new, customizable AR Emojis. Other enhancements include immersive, AKG-tuned stereo speakers, which complement the refined Infinity Display, and deeper integration with Samsung’s intelligence platform, Bixby.
Pricing is set at $719.99/$839.99USD ($960/$1100CAD) and the device is available in Midnight Black, Titanium Gray, Coral Blue, and Lilac Purple depending on location. In Canada, only the Titanium Gray and Lilac Purple colour options will be available and Canadians who upgrade and trade in their old phones before April 9, 2018 are eligible for an extra $100CAD trade-in credit towards the new Galaxy S9 or S9+.Source: Samsung (launch) Source: Samsung (Disney AR Emojis)
