The Razer Game Store launches today, giving gamers yet another digital distribution platform for PC games. Unlike most other digital game purchase sites, the Razer Game Store rewards gamers with exclusive offers, Razer Game Store vouchers, zSilver loyalty rewards credits with every purchase, discounted Razer peripherals, and more.
“As gamers, we know the importance of a good deal and the Razer Game Store delivers that to everyone,” says Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder and CEO. “We have been delighting gamers with our high-performing peripherals, laptops and software, and we’re now also able to provide the content itself that fuels their passion.”
The key hook that Razer hopes will bring gamers to the Razer Game Store for their digital game purchases are the zSilver loyalty rewards credits that are earned with each purchase and can then be redeemed for other Razer products like gaming keyboards and mice. You’ll probably be thinking “great, another game distribution platform that I’ll need to install!” That is not the case as the games that gamers can purchase will be delivered in the form of Steam or Uplay product keys, leveraging those existing platforms.
Speaking of Uplay, the launch of the Razer Game Store kicks off with an Ubisoft launch promotion, offering discounts of up to 75% on games like Assassin’s Creed Origins, Far Cry 4, South Park: The Fractured but Whole, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: SIEGE, and Watch Dogs 2. With the Razer Game Store, Razer has committed the following to its customers:
- Selling only officially authorized keys – Razer works with many publishing and developer partners to make sure that all games sold on the Razer Game Store are fully licensed.
- Providing Razer rewards for every purchase –Razer commits to rewarding gamers each time they check out with unique offers like zSilver bonuses, vouchers and hardware discounts.
- Razer Exclusive Deals – Deals marked as Razer Exclusive feature great promotions and rewards exclusive to Razer.
Razer will be offering four games each week as Razer Exclusives. Each exclusive is discounted up to 50% and purchasing any of them also rewards gamers with a Razer Game Store voucher of up to $15USD, double zSilver rewards, and a $10USD voucher for Razer peripherals purchased on the RazerStore website. The first four Razer Exclusives are Far Cry 5, Assassin’s Creed Origins, Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom, and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus.
Finally, to celebrate the launch of the Razer Game Store, Razer will be giving out 10,000 Steam keys for the recently released indie game, Furi, on a first-come, first-serve sign-up basis.
Gamers can expect to see games from Ubisoft, Bethesda, Bandai Namco, Deep Silver, Rockstar, and more filling the “shelves” of the Razer Game Store. The new service will be live in the U.S., United Kingdom, Germany, and France with localized content and prices, while the rest of Europe will see prices in Euros and the rest of the world will be served by a global storefront with prices in USD.
