Razer Phone updated to Android 8.1 Oreo, now available at Best Buy

When it comes to most smartphone OEMs, updates to newer versions of the Android operating system aren’t always speedy. In fact, a number of phones still release with the previous version of Android. The Razer Phone launched running Android 8.0 Oreo and starting today is receiving a phased rollout of Android 8.1. In addition, Razer has announced that the smartphone is also now available at BestBuy.com and coming soon to Best Buy retail locations.

One of the first smartphones to feature a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth gameplay and playback, the Razer Phone also features HDR and Dolby Atmos support for Netflix content. The latest update to the device features under-the-hood improvements, cleaner visual design, system improvements, and bug fixes. In addition, Razer Phone owners can also expect to see a Nova Launcher update. As mentioned previously, the update is a phased rollout starting today and expected to continue rolling out to everyone over the next 10 days.

The Razer Phone can now be purchased for $699.99USD on BestBuy.com with either the chrome or green Razer Snake logo adorning the back. It can also be purchased from Razer.com, Amazon, and at Microsoft Stores as well.
