Forza Motorsport 7 #Forzathon June 22-28: Boss 302 FE, CTS-V Coupe, and driver gear

This month brings big changes to the Forza Motorsport 7 #Forzathon format. In case you missed the news, not only has Turn 10 Studios brought them in-house, but they’ve also changed it to a (hopefully) standard weekly three challenges. The first will have one task, the second two, and the third three.

In addition, because they brought it in-house, the #Forzathon challenges are no longer tied to Xbox Achievements meaning you won’t get your 0 Gamerscore achievement for these anymore. That being said, last week’s #Forzathon was the second on the new system and it still seems to run a lot smoother with tasks popping as soon as you completed them without having to finish another event or reload the game after each one.

At any rate, here we are with the Forza Motorsport 7 #Forzathon June 22-28th event in which you can snag yourself some driver gear, the 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 302 Forza Edition, and the 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe. This #Forzathon event starts today at 10:00 a.m. PT and closes at 11:59 p.m. PT on June 28th. Check out the complete challenge list (we’ll fill it in as we work through it) and rewards below for the newly added challenges.

  • On a Stallion: Complete the Challenge to receive the 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 302 Forza Edition
    • Win a Race at Mugello in any Ford Mustang
  • Slithering Along: Complete both Challenges to receive the Kiss the Cook Driver Gear
    • Win a Race in a 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR
    • Complete a Race at Dubai Mountain Circuit in a FWD Car
  • Celebrating the Community: Complete all Challenges to receive the 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe
    • Complete a Race in a 2016 Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SV
    • Win a Race at Suzuka in a Sport Luxury Division Car
    • ???

On a Stallion

Looks like another easy week of tasks. Start off by heading over to Single Player > Free Play mode. Set up a 30-second timed race at Mugello with zero Max Drivatars, hop into a Ford Mustang and let the timer run out. Enjoy your new 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 302 Forza Edition!

Slithering Along

Once you’ve completed your first race, select next race, change your car to the 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR (rent it if you don’t have it or purchase it for 265,000CR), and repeat. You can either continue to the next race and switch your car for the first challenge in “Bullying Through” (my recommendation) or continue to the next challenge for this set. Either way, you’ll want to switch the track to the Dubai Mountain Circuit, hop into a FWD vehicle, and — once again — let the timer run out to finish up this one and get your Kiss the Cook Driver Gear. If you’re having a tough time finding a FWD vehicle, hit the Sort/Filter and display only FWD vehicles.

Bullying Through

Sticking with Free Mode, it’s easiest to do this after the first task in Slithering Along. Simply hit next race, change your car to the 2016 Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SV (rent it if you don’t have it or purchase it for 700,000CR) and let the timer run out. Once you’ve completed this, change the track to Suzuka, set the Car Division to Sport Luxury, hop into a new car from this division, and let the timer run out. Finally, hit the Next Race button, change the Car Division to Any, filter to display A Class cars only, hop in, and — for the second last time — let the timer run out. Once that race is complete, select Next Race one last time, repeat, and you’ll get the 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe.

All said and done, it really shouldn’t take you more than 15-20 minutes from start to finish… personally, I’d like to see more challenge in these “challenges.” What about you?

What do you think about the changes to the Forza Motorsport 7 #Forzathon events and the vehicles and driver gear up for grabs this week? Are the tasks too easy? Let us know in the comments below or on Google+Twitter, or Facebook.
