July Games with Gold: Twin stick shooter, multiplayer puzzle game, and more…


It’s that time again to find out what Microsoft has in store for Xbox Live Gold members with the July Games with Gold offerings. In case you missed them, there are still a few days to get the last two titles from last month. As always, the two Xbox 360 games below are Backward Compatible on the Xbox One (check out our Xbox One X review in case you missed it) once they’re available on their respective dates.

Without further ado, let’s check out what Xbox is offering Xbox Live Gold members in July!

SMITE Gold Bundle – Xbox One

June 16 – July 15


Get ready for SMITE, one of the most-played titles on Xbox One. Choose from over 90 gods and mythological figures, including Thor, Loki and Cerberus, and waging war between gods in epic online battles.

Exclusively for gold members, the SMITE Gold Bundle offers over $ 100 worth of free content, including twenty additional gods and over fifty bonus items such as skins, caster packages and more.


Assault Android Cactus – Xbox One

Assault Android Cactus is an arcade style twin stick shooter set in a vivid sci fi universe. Junior Constable Cactus is outside her pay grade when she responds to a distress call and ends up stranded on a crippled space freighter under attack by its own robot workers.

Utilising a draining battery mechanic in place of lives, Assault Android Cactus challenges you to think fast and keep the bullets flying, blending the gameplay of western styled arena shooters with aspects of Japanese style bullet hell as you charge head first through transforming stages, massive boss battles and an eclectic cast of characters on the way to saving the day.


Death Squared – Xbox One

Death Squared is a multiplayer puzzle game about cooperation, communication, and robot explosions. Solve 80 unique puzzles that range from elementary all the way up to Einstein genius. Fantastic narration, inventive levels, and four-player multiplayer really set this game apart.
