Last chance to get Forza Horizon 2 (for free with GwG) before it’s delisted

With Forza Horizon 4 due out soon, Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games have announced that Forza Horizon 2 will be delisted soon. The announcement came almost as a footnote in the August 17th Forza Week in Review.

heads up for the Forza community: Forza Horizon 2 will reach “end of life” status on September 30. That means that the game and its associated DLC will no longer be available for purchase. After September 30, players who own Forza Horizon 2 will still able to download and play the game and its associated content as normal. However, Forza Horizon 2 and its DLC will no longer be for sale. Forza Horizon 2 is currently available as part of August Games With Gold so, if you haven’t played it already, now is a great time to grab it.

First released on September 30, 2014, it was the first in the Forza Horizon series that was playable on the Xbox One. It was also released on the Xbox 360, allowing gamers who hadn’t upgraded to the Xbox One a chance to play it as well. With it being delisted on September 30, 2018, the game will have had a solid four-year run.

As mentioned in the Forza blog post, Xbox Live Gold members can snag Forza Horizon 2 for free until the end of August as it’s part of the free August Games with Gold. After that, or for those who aren’t Xbox Live Gold subscribers, can purchase the game and all the related DLC until the end of September.

What do you think about Playground Games and Microsoft Studios deciding to delist Forza Horizon 2? Do you still play it regularly? Let us know in the comments below or on Google+, Twitter, or Facebook.
