Lenovo does its best Yoga poses at IFA 2018 with new device announcements

|

Lenovo has been one of our favorite PC manufacturers to date. While not everything they make makes us go wow, a lot of what they make is pretty awesome. The company, as it always does, made a slew of device announcements at IFA 2018. Including new Yoga models, smart devices, Chromebooks, and ThinkPad products. Here’s the rundown of what to expect from Lenovo.

There’s a Yoga for everyone

Yoga C930

We’re kicking off the announcements with probably my favorite device on this extensive list, the C930. The most interesting part of this laptop is the “Sound Bar Hinge.” Lenovo’s idea here is to provide the user with the best sound in any mode being used. I’ve complained in past reviews that speakers on the bottom of devices muddy the sound and it looks like Lenovo is trying to improve this. It will be great to check this out once we have it in house for review. Here’s a rundown of the features of the C930:

Yoga
  • New Sound Bar Hinge with Dolby Atmos sound in every mode
  • New Dolby Vision HDR 4k & FHD for vibrant visuals
  • New Garaged Pen w/ 4096 pressure sensitivity levels
  • New Privacy Shutter (webcam cover)
  • New Narrow-Bezel Display Smaller Footprint
  • Premium Aluminum CNC Unibody Design
  • Far-Field Voice, Wake on Voice
  • Finger Print Reader
  • 2x Thunderbolt Ports
  • Up to 12hr Battery

The Lenovo Yoga C930 will be available in October with a configurable starting price of $1,399.99USD.

Yoga S730

Moving into the S730 we find a sleek clean design that is crazy thin and boast some decent battery life. The screen brightness goes up to 300 nits, not super bright but better than a lot of others. The S730 is looking like a nice entry-level premium device that might compete with Apple’s rumored new “Air” line. Here are some features and specs for the S730:

S730
  • New Streamlined Design: Ultra Portable Thin & Light
  • New Ultra-low-power FHD display, 10-hour battery life
