The annual iPhone event is over and prospective buyers are left staring at
The iPhone XR features the same A12 Bionic chip (with Neural Engine) its more expensive siblings have plus it has a larger 6.1″ “Liquid Retina” display. The iPhone XS has a smaller 5.8″ display but does have the advantage of OLED technology. The XR also sports Face ID and the new “advanced camera system” without the dual camera setup. So thanks to Apple’s software and internal hardware, you will be able to get many of the same camera features that are on the more expensive models.
“iPhone XR helps us reach even more people with the latest iPhone innovations. It is packed with the newest technologies including a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina display that goes edge to edge, the latest TrueDepth camera with faster Face ID authentication, new 7-nanometer A12 Bionic chip with
second-generation Neural Engine and a 12-megapixel camera that takes advanced Portrait mode and Portrait Lighting photos,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “The new iPhone XR has a gorgeous new aerospace-grade aluminum and glass enclosure that has IP67 protection from liquids and dust, long all-day battery life and comes in six beautiful finishes. iPhone XR makes it possible for even more people to have the great experience of the latest iPhone X technology, in beautiful new designs, at a more affordable price.”
The XR will also have more color options than its more expensive siblings sporting white, black, blue, yellow, coral and (PRODUCT)RED. Basically, this lower-priced iPhone has everything the XS and XS Max have, save a few premium features. The XS models have that more vibrant OLED display, the stainless steel frame construction, and the dual camera setup. While we’re sure Apple will still sell plenty of XS models, it’s the XR model that we think many people will be opting for due to its much lower cost to get into.
What do you think? Do you think the iPhone XR will be the choice of many users? Or will the XS models sell better even with their larger price tags
