Classic Final Fantasy games coming to Xbox One, Switch, PS4

If you’ve been wanting to play some classic Final Fantasy games on your favorite gaming console, well, now you can. Final Fantasy‘s Twitter account posted a list of classic games that will be available for the Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4 starting now through 2019.

From the tweet above, you can see that a total of eight games are being released. The Xbox One is getting six games in all, PlayStation 4 is getting four, Steam (PC) is getting one, and the Nintendo Switch is getting all eight games.

Unfortunately, FF 8 is not on the list. One game is already available for Xbox, PS, and the Switch and that’s Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition. The next game will come out on November 6th (World of Final Fantasy), while Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon will come out in the winter with the rest of the pack following in 2019.

Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition

After years of fighting, the nations of Lucis and Niflheim, at last, agree to an armistice. Final Fantasy VII

The story starts in Midgar, a city controlled by the mega-conglomerate Shinra Company, where the No. 1 Mako Reactor has been blown up by a rebel group, Avalanche.

Avalanche was secretly formed to wage a rebellion against Shinra Company, an organization which is absorbing Mako energy, destroying the natural resources of the planet. Cloud, a former member of Shinra’s elite combat force, Soldier, was involved with the bombing of the Mako Reactor.

Final Fantasy IX

Final Fantasy IX tells an incredible tale featuring a stellar cast of unique characters, set in a classic high-fantasy based world. Featuring incredible character development at the core of the gripping plot to this epic tale, Final Fantasy IX tells a grand story of love, war, betrayal, the secrets of the Crystal, and… Moogles!

Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD

Final Fantasy X tells the story of a star blitzball player, Tidus, who journeys with a young and beautiful summoner named Yuna on her quest to save the world of Spira from an endless cycle of destruction wrought by the colossal menace Sin.

Final Fantasy X-2 returns to the world of Spira two years after the beginning of the Eternal Calm. Having been shown a mysterious but familiar image in a sphere, Yuna becomes a Sphere Hunter and along with her companions, Rikku and Paine, embark on a quest around the world to find the answers to the mystery within.

Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age

Enter an era of war within the world of Ivalice. The small kingdom of Dalmasca, conquered by the Archadian Empire, is left in ruin and uncertainty. Princess Ashe, the one and only heir to the throne, devotes herself to the resistance to liberate her country. Vaan, a young man who lost his family in the war, dreams of flying freely in the skies.
