K-Swiss sneakers have been around for a long time and continue to be a popular brand. So it’s no surprise that this long-running sneaker company knows just how much energy it takes to play video games competitively. The hours upon hours sitting behind a TV or monitor takes a huge toll on gamers feet, legs, and back. That’s why these new K-Swiss sneakers are a gamers best friend.

Of course, I am being snarky and sarcastic cause we all know performance sneakers for gaming is just a bit silly. But K-Swiss’s play here isn’t a bad thing, for them anyway. Esports is a huge market filled with pockets with money in them, so why not capitalize on it with some appropriate lifestyle branded sneakers?

These new K-Swiss sneakers for gamers will sell for $110USD and are branded with the Immortals logo and name. The Immortals are one of the many esports organizations that have teams playing Overwatch and Counter-Stike: Global Offensive.

K-Swiss says they will have a “performance” version of this shoe ready by mid-2019 and it will be dubbed “The Grandmaster.” The company says The Grandmaster will include the ability to quickly kick the shoes off hands-free and provide comfort for long matches.

Esports, in which professional video-game players compete before live audiences and online, is one of the fastest-growing niches in the entertainment business. Over the past two years, video-game manufacturers have sought to mimic traditional pro sports by selling franchises, striking media rights deals and developing team-specific merchandise.

Alright, so while this all seems a bit silly it is true that esports has become huge. So it makes sense for companies to attempt to create products that appeal to that specific community and lifestyle. The sneakers actually look pretty nice and I’m willing to bet non-gamers might buy a few pairs themselves.
