We’re here at CES 2019 checking out what consumer technology companies are offering up for the year. Capstone Connected Home is one of those companies and they’re introducing their new Google-enabled smart mirror. It seems like Google is creeping into just about everything these days. From smart speakers to smart phones and smart TVs to now a Google-enabled smart mirror.

This mirror has both voice and touchscreen capabilities and gives the user access to Google Assistant which will allow them to check traffic, weather, and stream YouTube while the get ready for their day. You can even check your social media feeds and run downloadable applications from the Google Play Store. The touchscreen capabilities will allow for typing if you’d rather not ask Google to deliver the content.

The Google-enabled smart mirror will be able to distinguish up to six different voices, making it easy to navigate between multiple Google accounts. This eliminates the hassle of having to log in and out of multiple accounts and keeps each user’s data private.

Managing the smart mirror is done through the Capstone Connected Control Hub. Similar to a high-end tablet, the Hub is a touchscreen device that lets users access playlists, log into messaging apps, check the weather, and more when connected to Wi-Fi. The Hub will be compatible with future Capstone Connected Home products coming later.

It’s an interesting device if you don’t mind having Google in your bathroom. The Google-Enabled smart mirror will be available in a variety of sizes with the first being 19 by 22-inches. No word on pricing and it will be available to purchase some time in Q1 of 2019.
