[CES 2019] Lenovo Legion gaming systems upgraded, new monitors unveiled

Lenovo has just announced a number of new and updated devices. Have no fear gamers as the company has also announced the next iterations of their Lenovo Legion gaming laptops, as well as a pair of new gaming monitors. Without further ado, lets check out what the company has in store for gamers.

Lenovo Legion Y740 (15″ & 17″)

The new Lenovo Legion Y740 will come in two sizes: 15-inch and 17-inch. Running 8th Generation Intel Core processors, the Legion Y740 will be available with NVIDIA’s new RTX 20-series GPUs.

The Y740 also features an improved “Legion Coldfront Cooling System,” a brighter 500nits Dolby Vision HDR panel (available in a 144Hz G-Sync option), and an anti-ghosting keyboard with Corsair iCUE lighting.

The Lenovo Legion Y740 will start at US$1749.99 for the 15-inch version and $1979.99 for the 17-inch version. Availability is set for February.

The Lenovo Legion Y540, on the other hand, will only come in a 15-inch model. It will feature the same improved Legion Coldfront Cooling System and also be powered by Intel Core processors and the new NVIDIA RTX GPUs.

The HDR Dolby Vision display will also be an available option, albeit at 300nits brightness. Like the Y740, it will also feature narrow 6.7mm top and side bezels for more immersive gaming.

Lenovo’s new Legion Y44w Gaming Monitor is a 43.4-inch ultra-wide curved beast. Optimized with advanced connectivity and function, the Y44w features a 32:10 aspect ratio, is HDR400 certified, has a 144Hz refresh rate with a 4ms response time.

The monitor also supports AMD FreeSync technology, includes a USB Type-C connection, has a hidden USB hub, TUV Eye Comfort certification, smart power function to charge two devices at the same time, and picture-by-picture and picture-in-picture functionality.

For those looking for something a bit more “reasonable,” the Lenovo Legion 27-inch Y27gq gaming monitor offers up QHD resolution with a fast, 240Hz refresh rate, and 0.5ms response time.

With an anti-glare finish and flicker-free TUV Eye Comfort certification, the monitor also features detachable Harmon Kardon certified speakers, an ergonomic stand with lift, tilt, pivit, and swivel functions. As well, it features HDMI, DP, USB 3.0 ports, and an audio combo jack.
