Latest Disney’s Aladdin teaser gives first look at Genie and Jasmine

The animated to live action train continues over at Disney with the latest Disney’s Aladdin teaser giving us a first look at both Genie and Jasmine. The first teaser, released back in October, stopped just short of showing the live action version of Genie. Check it out below:

Starring Mena Massoud as Aladdin and Naomi Scott as Jasmine, the big casting here, in my opinion, is Will Smith as Genie. Smith definitely has some big boots to fill as Robin Williams did a bang-up job as Genie in the animated version. Seeing the footage above, I’m not so sure… I guess time will tell!

A thrilling and vibrant live-action adaptation of Disney’s animated classic, “Aladdin” is the exciting tale of the charming street rat Aladdin, the courageous and self-determined Princess Jasmine and the Genie who may be the key to their future. Directed by Guy Ritchie, who brings his singular flair for fast-paced, visceral action to the fictitious port city of Agrabah, “Aladdin” is written by John August and Ritchie based on Disney’s “Aladdin.”

The cast is rounded out with Marwan Kenzari as Jafar; Navid Negahban as the Sultan; Nasim Pedrad as Dalia; Billy Magnussen as Prince Anders; and Numan Acar as Hakim. Alan Menken returns to provide the score, including new recordings of the original songs and two new songs written by Menken and Oscar and Tony Award®-winning songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.

You can catch the new live action Disney’s Aladdin in theatres on May 24.
