I think most of us can remember the first time we saw The Matrix and just how blown away we were by the visuals and the story. The Matrix was released March 31, 1999, making this month its 20th-anniversary. We’re finding out now that some theaters are planning special limited-time screenings of the sci-fi classic to celebrate. We’re also finding out that some theaters celebrated early with screenings in February and earlier this week.
It’s hard to say which theaters are participating in this but we know some iPic Theaters and Cinemark Theaters are having showings. You’ll just have to look around your area to see if any theaters are planning on joining the celebration of Neo, Trinity, and Morpheus’s adventure. It also doesn’t look like they’re all holding their showings on the same dates.
Most likely, this isn’t a coordinated effort from theaters but rather a case-by-case choice with some theaters not offering this up at all. It’s going to be hit-and-miss but if you’re wanting to watch The Matrix on the big screen again, it may be worth a quick search.

While we have a theater near us that is showing this classic movie, we are not going to be able to make it. I do admit, the thought of seeing this in theaters again is fun and I wish I had time to make it happen. Hopefully, some of you will get the chance to take in this blockbuster film in theaters one more time.
