Arlo Ultra security camera system now available

The Arlo Ultra security camera system which features 4K HDR video, night vision, wire-free setup, and an integrated spotlight is now available for purchase.

Originally released back in January after CES, the company temporarily halted sales due to a number of bugs which surfaced for early adopters. The bugs have been presumably sorted out and the updated 4K HDR wire-free security camera system is available at Best Buy, Amazon, and other retailers.

“As the most advanced DIY monitoring solution we’ve ever launched, Arlo Ultra raises the bar for smart home surveillance and marks a massive leap forward in surveillance for the do-it-yourself smart home security market. Now available through additional retailer channels, Ultra provides home and small business owners with a convenient system that not only delivers cutting-edge image and audio quality, but also AI and computer vision capabilities.”

Pat Collins, senior vice president of Arlo products

With 4K video capture and output featuring HDR, home and small business owners can easily set up the Arlo Ultra system without having to feed wires around and through walls. A 180-degree field of view also provides a wide picture, allowing for more coverage per camera. The system also features a powerful LED integrated spotlight, night vision, two-way audio, and a built-in siren which can be automatically or manually triggered.

The entire system is powered by the Arlo SmartHub which utilizes ArloRF, Arlo’s proprietary two-way radio frequency. According to the company, this enables longer battery life, superior long-range wireless coverage, and hassle-free communication between the devices and the SmartHub.
