Plugable releases two new triple-display USB-C docking stations

Docking stations can be an invaluable peripheral, especially if you use a laptop. Heck, it can even be invaluable with a desktop setup, allowing you to easily add more ports or plug devices in without having to reach around the back of your tower. On that note, Plugable has just announced two new triple-display docking stations with plenty of extra ports for your computer setup.

Typically speaking, Plugable makes some pretty high-quality computer peripherals that are fairly reasonably priced. The company’s latest USB-C docking stations each offer up three display ports, allowing users to either connect three HDMI displays at 1080p resolution, or two HDMI displays at 1200p resolution and one Alt Mode at 4K resolution.

Here’s what the company has to say about its new offerings.

UD-3900PDH

The UD-3900PDH is a triple display docking station built around the DisplayLink DL-3900 chipset. It adds three displays on Windows, ChromeOS, and Macs with full-featured USB-C, USB4, or Thunderbolt-enabled ports. The dock provides two 1920×1200 @ 60Hz displays as well as a 4K @ 60Hz. It also includes 100W of USB-C Power Delivery, five additional USB 5Gbps ports, SD and microSD Card slots, a wired Gigabit Ethernet port, and 3.5mm analog audio input/output jacks.

UD-768PDZ

The UD-768PDZ is a similar docking station leveraging the Silicon Motion (SMI) chipset to provide three additional 1080P @ 60Hz displays on Windows, ChromeOS, and Macs with full-featured USB-C, USB4, or Thunderbolt-enabled ports. Users can also connect to six additional USB ports (4x USB 5Gbps, 1x USB 10Gbps, and 1x USB-C 10Gbps), a wired Gigabit Ethernet port, SD Card slot, and 3.5mm analog audio headset port, all through a single USB-C cable back to the host. It also drives 100W Power Delivery to the host computer and 20W Power Delivery through the front USB-C port to charge a phone or peripheral.

Availability

Both USB-C triple-display docking stations are now available on Amazon, each with a $20 off launch discount. Before this discount, the UD-3900PDH retails for $169.99 while the UD-0768PDZ retails for $179.99. Be sure to check back in the next week or so for our full review of the UD-0768PDZ.
