Playstation Plus Free Games for Grabs – July 2014

On July 1st,  Sony went live with free games available to members of Playstation Plus for PS4, PS3, and PS Vita announced via their blog.  This month’s collection features some solid multiplayer fun and kicks off with Towerfall: Ascension and Strider on PS4 while PS3 gets an awesome game from previous gen with Dead Space 3.  Vita gets Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes.

Sony has jumped out to a large lead in the video game market in this generation but we are not that far in yet. Did Sony capitalize on last year’s success and lay out the ground work for continued dominance? Some exclusives games, some co-marketed games, and a little hardware showed up for Sony at E3.

Xbox Live Gold No Longer Required For Netflix, Hulu?

Ars Technica is reporting that multiple sources at Microsoft have been told of a plan to make a few adjustments to the Xbox Live Gold streaming video offerings.  Most notably, popular video streaming services Netflix and Hulu may no longer require Xbox Live Gold access.  Up until now, Xbox users would need to pay for an Xbox Live Gold account – in addition to paying for Netflix or Hulu subscriptions – just to stream these services from the Xbox.

Console Versions of Elder Scrolls Online Delayed 6 Months, Zenimax Promises Goodies

eso-xbox-one-playstation-4Playstation 4 and Xbox One owners will have to wait a little bit longer to explore the sprawling world of The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) on their TV screens. Zenimax Online confirmed rumors today in a blog post that the console release of their popular massively multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG) has been delayed for 6 months.

Is A Free PS4 Worth Eating Taco Bell?

Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC  and Taco Bell have teamed up to give away some PlayStation® 4s to hungry fans. This is not the first time Sony and The Bell have teamed up for a promotion like this, last year they did the same with PS Vita. This go around the duo has named the promotion “Play the Future First” and it runs in the U.S. only from September 26 to November 10.
