Zepp Labs, a motion capture technology company has just announced the world’s first multi-sports sensor and apps on what they call the Zepp Sports Platform. The apps are called Zepp Baseball, Zepp Golf and Zepp Tennis.
“For the first time in history, players and coaches can now capture and analyze 3D
swing data on their smartphone or tablet and discover ways to improve their game,”
said Jason Fass, chief executive officer of Zepp Labs. “We see a tremendous
opportunity to improve the way we practice, play and experience sports by providing
meaningful and actionable data in a beautiful design with an easy-to-use interface.”
The Zepp 3D Motion Sensor is a very small piece of tech, about one inch square and a little less than half inch thick and weighs in at 6.3 grams. Zepp labs touts the minimal design saying “It never impedes the athletes performance. It’s constructed of a rubber material with a shock-resistant core which the company says helps it survive extreme conditions on the baseball field, golf course and tennis courts. The Zepp 3D Motion Sensor has an ARM processor and multiple motion sensors and has enough memory for 200,000 tennis swings and 2000 baseball or golf swings. Battery life is up to 8 hours, depending on use. It mounts to a baseball bat, golf club or tennis racket with an innovative rugged sport mount. It also captures 1000 data points and uploads them to the app on your smartphone or tablet for you to analyze and study. Zepp Baseball
