Deep Silver has released the first Dead Island 2 gameplay trailer. As the title suggests, it’s all sunshine & slaughter!
The follow up to 2011’s successful Dead Island and 2013’s Dead Island:Riptide, the trailer features pre-alpha in-game footage. Announced at this year’s E3 and currently in development by YAGER Studio, Dead Island 2 is set to take place in sunny California and looks to contain all the hack, slash, and shooting gore with customizable weapons that it’s predecessor has.
Deep Silver also mentions that Dead Island 2 will be playable this week at Gamescon 2014 in Cologne at the Deep Silver booth. Gamers will be able to experience zombie infested California first hand in a playable level which is set just below the famous Hollywood sign.
It’ll be interesting to see how the franchise holds up with a new developer at the helm after Techland – developer of Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide – decided to focus on Dying Light. From the footage above though, Dead Island 2 looks promising and only time will tell if YAGER can deliver.
