Great news, everyone! The slime is flowing again! Well, so to speak. NEW CONTENT IS COMING! Finally, finally, finally, after an unnecessarily long live-stream event, Blizzard has announced that November 13, 2014 will be when all that you know will fade and Warlords of Draenor will take over Azeroth. Thankfully it’s not the December 20th date that was originally announced as the last possible date but it’s still 13 weeks away, which translates into 13 forevers (a week is forever), or A REALLY LONG TIME.
Even though the point of all that lead up and spectacle was for Warlords of Draenor, I do have to say that Lords of War episode and teaser was pretty stellar. However, what stole the show, as expected, was the cinematic trailer. Visually stunning, as is tradition for Blizzard, and featured the new enemy of both Alliance and Horde – the Iron Horde, it gave a great background to the driving force behind the new expansion’s storyline.
The game preview had wonderful footage as well, showcasing some of the newly revamped animations and details of the characters, previewed all of Draenor’s zones, new and old. Bringing back that good ol’ Warcraft feel, Warlords of Draenor promises to turn up the heat by adding RTS-style garrisons which will allow players to make unprecedented choices in-game on the housing and staffing of their very own fortresses and help in the war efforts against the Iron Horde. A whole new PvP zone, Ashran, that will embody the old style Alterac Valley playstyle of an objective based map but with other rewards as well. New pets, mounts, and gorgeous new landscapes, Warlords of Draenor has something for everyone to love. Or hate, depending on which side of the fight you stand on.
Despite the disappointingly long wait, I’ll be there, fighting the good fight. FOR THE HORDE!
