Carspotting: 2006 Ford GT In The Wild

|

Ran across this gorgeous 2006 Ford GT while tooling around town in Texas yesterday. The owner knows people are just gonna stop like I did and snap some pics of it. He posted in the windshield as you can tell that he’s certified to have taken this car to 223 MPH!

The redesigned supercar inspired by the revolutionary design from the 60’s is an intimidating specimen without a doubt. The engineers labored heavily to keep the classic elements of the past intact while updating and refining the interior and mechanics to bring the look into the modern times. The Ford GT is driven by a  mid-engined powertrain producing 500 horsepower and 500 foot-pounds of torque. The engine architecture comes from Ford’s MOD engine family, which includes performance powertrains like the 390-horsepower 4.6-liter DOHC supercharged V-8 in the SVT Mustang Cobra and the 380-horsepower 5.4-liter SOHC supercharged V-8 in the SVT F-150 Lightning.
