Xbox keeps coming up with new ways to add value for their Xbox Live Gold Members, first with Games With Gold, then Deals With Gold, and recently demos on the Xbox One. The latest “freebie” for XBL Gold Members is the ability to play Forza Motorsport 5 free this weekend.
When companies offer “free weekends” of games, oftentimes they are content limited or crippled in some way. Not so with Forza Motorsport 5.
Beginning at 12:01 a.m. PDT, Thursday, Sept. 4 through 11:59 p.m. PDT, Sunday, Sept. 7, Gold members in Xbox One markets can play the newest entry in the highest-rated racing franchise* of the past decade, Forza Motorsport 5, in entirety and for free.
That’s right, the ENTIRE game is free – and you can earn achievements and gamerscore as if you owned the game. As well, there is a new multiclass endurance event this weekend only called the Grand Tour of Prague. Drive at least 130 miles in the race and you will earn a new badge and title for your Forza Motorsport 5 profile.
Forza Motorsport 5 is Turn 10 Studios next generation racing title and was developed from the ground up with an entirely new graphics engine and features cloud-powered gameplay with Drivatars, 16 player multiplayer, hundreds of cars spanning all styles and speeds, and more. If you haven’t tried it out before, there definitely isn’t a better time than this weekend.
For those lucky enough to live in the U.S., Gold Members who play can qualify for a chance to win an all-expenses paid trip to the upcoming Forza Motorsport Grand Prix Road Racing Class in Arizona. That’s definitely a trip worth winning!
