Disney Gets Emotional With Inside Out Teaser

|

Earlier today Disney tweeted out a teaser trailer for their upcoming Pixar film Inside Out. From what we know so far, the film will bring to life the emotions inside us all in the form of several unique characters. The majority of this short teaser showed off some particularly emotional moments from past Disney Pixar works such as – my personal favorite moment – Samuel L. Jackson’s character in The Incredibles yelling about a missing super suit to represent anger, and of course the tear factory that is the opening of Up for sadness.

The plot will primarily revolve around a young child Riley as she is uprooted and forced to move across the country for her dad’s career, with her internal emotions being characterized in the “control center” of her brain. It feels to me like a modern retelling of Snow White with more focus on the emotional aspects of Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust, Sadness, and Wonder in the main character’s head and less on the creepy implications of the rest of the story in that classic Disney film. Either way, get ready for this to be the last original IP from Pixar for the next few years, as they have announced that The Incredibles 2 and Cars 3 are coming down the pipe next.

Inside Out is pulling some real star power from well-known NBC shows headlined with talent such as Amy Pohler (Parks and Recreation) as Joy, Bill Hader (Saturday Night Live) as Fear, Mindy Kaling (The Office) as Disgust, Phyllis Smith (The Office) as Sadness, and Lewis Black playing as Anger. It is set to release June 19th, 2015.
