There’s Now A Live Action Version Of “Actual Cannibal Shia LaBeouf”. Because Of Course There Is

Cats? Whatever. Phantom of the Opera? Yawn. Les Misérables? More like the miserable pile of garbage. None of these so called “classic” broadway musicals can hold a candle to the genius that is Eric Cantor and his live rendition of the 2012 popular song and YouTube video “Actual Cannibal Shia LaBeouf.”

This tragic recanting of famous movie star and known cannibal Shia LaBeouf tracking down victims in a dark forest with an ax was originally uploaded to Soundcloud in 2012 by Rob Cantor himself. When the song eventually caught on and began to viral, YouTube animator namefriend brought the horrific tale to life, by animating the star of “Even Stevens” and known eater of human flesh chasing down an unnamed man sporting the Tumblr icon as a head. The video quickly caught fire and has been a hit, particularly around Halloween every year.

A few days ago, Cantor released an extended live-action video of the song titled “Shia Labeouf Live” which re-enacts the video with the help of the The Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles, The West Los Angeles Children’s Choir, and The Argus Quartet. Much like the original song, Cantor is on stage narrating the events in the song, but is now backdropped by a full choir and it’s frankly amazing. Even if you’ve seen the video and heard the song a hundred times, it’s worth another watch or twenty just to see how they translated it to real life. The whole thing is played completely straight as if it were a big time production.

And don’t forget to watch all the way through to the very end.
