Furious 7 Official Name And Poster Revealed, Trailer Coming Next Week

The first official poster and confirmation of the name for the upcoming Furious 7 were released by Universal Pictures earlier today. If you could not tell by the mysterious name, Furious 7 will indeed be the seventh film in the Fast & The Furious franchise. Their names have been more confusing than Microsoft’s naming system for Windows, but with three straight numbered movies, they might be back on track to a number convention that makes sense.

Furious 7 brings back some familiar faces to fans of the franchise that started all the way back in 2001, as well as some new action hero staples ripped straight from The Expendables. Joining the longtime Furious crew members such as Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, and Paul Walker will be Jason Statham and Kurt Russell, among others.

As you might expect from a series of still images, the released artwork and behind the scenes glimpses at Furious 7 is certainly interesting if you’re a hardcore Furious fan, but they don’t tell us much about the film besides the expected inclusion of Vin Diesel weaponized forearms. Paul Walker, who tragically passed away last November in Valencia, California, will also be in the film. It will be interesting to see how the stepping in of Cody Walker, one of Paul’s brothers, and the digital superimposing of Paul’s face for closeups will turn out in the scene’s that were yet to be completed before his passing. In the images that Universal shared, Paul is featured prominently in several of them, including some candid behind the scene shots with Vin.

The official Furious 7 also posted a teaser for their trailer in a bout of insanity. If you are really clamoring for some teaser bits, you can find the trailer for the trailer below as well as it and more on the film’s Facebook page.

As you can tell from the poster, Furious 7 is slated for release next April.  You can also catch the full gallery of images released for the film over at ComingSoon.net.
