The long-awaited 10-year anniversary 22-minute special lovingly crafted by the Mega64 boys was posted early Monday morning. It features all of the main Mega64 crew, as well as other familiar faces from the group and the lovable Hideo Kojima. The special was written and produced as a huge thank you to the Mega64 fans (also known as Internet Soldierz) for sticking with them over the past 10 years of their series episodes, promotional skits for video games, and weekly video podcasts.

Mega64 has been boosting in popularity and exposure lately; featuring big industry personalities like Shigeru Miyamoto, Reggie Fils-Aimé, Cliff Bleszinski, and even earning representation from Hideo Kojima. The crew has been ramping up their signature low-budget production into bigger features and more over-the-top sketches.

One of their latest promotional videos was for Funimation’s release for Dragonball Z: Battle of the Gods, and perfectly represents how the Mega64 “cheap cosplay” image is so successful when coupled with well-done cinematography, cheesy writing, and frivolous special effects.

The story of Sequence Erase is a stand-alone narrative, but still set in the same vein as their continuing Version series. Both Sequence Erase and Version tie a scripted storyline centered around the Mega64 crew with the typical Mega64 nature of dressing up as (usually) video game characters and heckling the citizens of their hometown of San Diego with quotes from said character.

In Sequence Erase you can expect some throwbacks to characters featured in their older sketches, as well as some new arrivals. Sequence Erase is a well put-together compilation of everything great about Mega64, and it’s recommended that you check out their other promotional sketches in addition to Version 1, 2, and 3. You can also view all of their stuff on their YouTube channel, and tune in for weekly podcasts on their Twitch channel.
