First Images Of Telltale’s Game Of Thrones Leak Online

Telltale Games has been extremely tight-lipped about their upcoming adaptation of Game of Thrones, but that hasn’t stopped as series of images from surfacing online. First released by this odd Xbox Live Arcade “watchdog” Twitter account and later posted by Kotaku, these images appear to fit the typical Telltale Game’s style we’ve seen with their Walking Dead series as well as their own original story The Wolf Among Us.

If the images are indeed legit, it looks like the series will be sticking closely to the visual styles of the HBO series Game of Thrones more-so than what was described in the original book series. Readers of the popular George R.R. Martin series, A Song of Ice and Fire, will note that Tyrion Lannister’s face (outside of clearly being Peter Dinklage) lacks the absence of a nose like his book counterpart. Instead, he has a small scar that the HBO’s version of everyone’s favorite imp has because fake prosthetic noses are expensive and a pain to wear on set.

Margaery Tyrell, Cersei Lannister, and Ramsay Snow are all shown as well, sporting the faces of their respective HBO counterparts, Natalie Dorner, Lena Headley, and Iwan Rheon.

We still don’t know much about the game other than a unconfirmed potential release date, and the fact that you play as a brand new character in the minor House Forrester. From the images it’s clear that being such a minor character won’t stop you from running into other well-known characters in the series, so it’ll be interesting to see how Telltale handles the rich established mythos of Game of Thrones and weaves it into their own story. In their Walking Dead adaptation, for example, main characters from the TV series were relegated to cameo appearances for the most part.

Will we get to be personally threatened by Cersei Lannister? Will we get to touch the iron throne? Will we get to have a drink or seven with Tyrion? Will we get to ask Natalie Dorner out on a date? All this and more should hopefully be answered whenever the game releases, or when Telltale mercifully gives us more information.
