Lots of Lenovo news today! If you haven’t read my review of the Lenovo Horizon 2e Table PC, go ahead and check that out now. Don’t worry, I’ll wait. In more lighthearted news, Lenovo recently started promoting their Lenovo Yoga 3 tablet in the best way possible: messing with people. The Yoga tablets, if you’re unaware, bend in order to change from a laptop into a tablet. The premise of this ad is that other laptops obviously don’t bend.
So Lenovo went to a mall to speak with some unsuspecting
suckers customers about the unique abilities of the Lenovo Yoga 3. An “employee” of a kiosk calls over these patrons to show them the awesome technology behind the Lenovo Yoga 3. After demonstrating the bending ability – “like Yoga, you get it…” – the “employee” proceeds to break a Macbook in half. Hilarity ensues, Security is called, the suckers customers panic a bit, everybody laughs at the end. Check out the full video below.
The obvious hope is to raise awareness and interest in Lenovo’s Yoga line of tablets. Having not used one myself I can say that they look interesting if nothing else. This is definitely a fun stab at viral marketing – making people laugh is a great way to help them remember your products.
