Sophie Turner, Alexandra Shipp and Tye Sheridan have joined the cast of the upcoming X-Men Apocalypse. Filming for the 2016 blockbuster is set to begin in the spring of this year.
Director Bryan Singer tweeted out the news on Thursday night.

Sophie Turner, best known as Sansa Stark from Game of Thrones, will portray a younger version of Jean Grey, played by Famke Janssen in the original trilogy. Turner is the second Game of Thrones star to enter this film series, as Peter Dinklage played the main antagonist in Days of Future Past.
Alexandra Shipp takes over Storm’s role from Oscar award winning Halle Berry. This will easily be Shipp’s biggest role to date as her most notable role to this point has been playing the R&B singer Aaliyah in the Lifetime TV biopic.
Tye Sheridan joins the cast as Scott “Cyclops” Summers, originally played by James Marsden. Sheridan is perhaps best known for starring in The Tree of Life and Mud, the latter of which he received multiple independent awards for.
X-Men Apocalypse is set to take place in 1983, prompting the need for a younger cast than used in the previous movies of the X-Men franchise. James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence will reprise their roles as the younger versions of their present day counterparts.
