Saygus is looking to enter the Android smartphone market with a bang later this week and has announced that their Saygus V2 “superphone” will be available for pre-order later this week. The pre-order time will be announced on Thursday through Saygus’ Twitter account (@saygus).
UPDATE (02/05/2015 13:35ET): Saygus has let us know that they are extending the pre-order period due to customer request.
Some people who registered to pre-order have requested more time to complete their pre-order purchases. As such, Saygus is extending the deadline through Saturday, February 7 at 11:59 p.m. MST (06:59 Sunday, February 8/GMT)!! The pre-registration price package (additional battery and screen protector) of $549 will ONLY be available to customers who pre-registered. For those who did not pre-register, the price is $599.

The V2 smartphone boasts some impressive specifications. Amongst today’s smartphones, the 5″ screen isn’t the largest, but is a TFT-LCD FHD screen featuring front and back light sensors for enhanced screen lighting control and is made of Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The front facing camera is 13MP, while the rear facing camera is 21MP – both with Optical Image Stabilization and Auto Focus, and the phone also has a hardware camera shutter button.
As for the inside, the V2 contains a 2.5Ghz Quad Core Qualcomm Snapdragon™ processor, 3GB RAM, 64GB onboard flash storage, and dual microSDXC slots for up to 256GB expandable storage. The device should work on any network as it is being marketed as a world phone with GSM, CDMA, and LTE support, and also supports dual band Wi-Fi (2.4G/5G) 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, NFC, Bluetooth 4, and an IR transmitter. On the battery side, the V2 will have a 3100 mAh removable battery and support wireless Qi charging with a built-in power saving chip which is supposed to offer 50% improved battery life.
All the above components are housed in an aluminum frame with a full kevlar body. But perhaps the biggest feature is HD WiFi streaming to any TV with a USB or HDMI port using an HD WiFi dongle. Developers will be interested in taking a look at this device as well as it will be sold with root access available, allowing custom firmware to be installed. Syagus encourages companies and individuals to modify the UI and customize the software as they see fit. The V2 will also support Multi-boot, allowing software to be run from a microSD card as well.
A phone with the build quality, expandability, and features listed above sounds like it will cost a pretty penny, but Saygus is hinting at a sub-$600USD price point and will reveal the cost on Thursday as well.

Saygus Announces Pre-Order Pricing of Saygus V2 (V-Squared)
SALT LAKE CITY—Jan. 29, 2015— Saygus, the progressive American smartphone manufacturer, today announced that the Saygus V2 (pronounced V-Squared) will be available at a limited introductory price of US $549 for a $50 savings off the standard pricing of US $599. Saygus has extended the pre-order registration deadline to noon MST on Monday, Feb. 2. Pre-orders at saygus.com will then officially commence at 11:59 p.m. MST Monday, Feb. 2.
Those who pre-register will receive an additional battery and a customized, replaceable glass screen protector through the company’s website, saygus.com. Those who pre-register will receive a coupon code for the introductory package. There is a limit of 10 units per customer.
