Just around 6pm CST Netflix went down for what seems most of the United States. There has been no official statement from Netflix concerning the outage but social networks are a buzz with the fact they are indeed down. The website checker Down For Everyone Or Just Me confirms that the popular video streaming service is indeed suffering some sort of outage.
Downdector.com also confirms that Netflix is down and Facebook commenters are confirming the outage. We have reached out to Netflix for a statement to see if we can get to the bottom of the issue. Stay tuned to Techaeris for any updates.
Update: 6:45pm CST, some users are reporting Netflix service is returning. Service in our area is still out. We will bring you any press release or information that Netflix is willing to share with us concerning the outage.
Update: 7:10pm CST, Canadian users are now reporting that Netflix is down for them as well, so this is looking like a North American outage at the moment. More to come.
Update: 8:15 CST, Most users appear to be back up and running. Crisis potentially averted.
