Batman: Arkham Knight Comic Available Now; DC Giving Away 50 Copies

Comics/Books / Entertainment / Gaming / PC / PlayStation / Xbox

The three chapters of Arkham Knight #1, a prequel comic to the upcoming game of the same name, were made available yesterday in a digital collection. Similar to the five-issue Arkham City comic that released in 2011, Arkham Knight will bridge the story gap between two Arkham games. Individual chapters of the issue have been released digitally since February 24, culminating in this Collected Edition yesterday.
Following the events of the last Arkham game and the closure of Arkham City, Bruce Wayne finds himself in a desperate situation and wondering if his role as Batman is even needed for Gotham City any longer. “Dangerous new threats” emerge to fight the Dark Knight, which most likely hints at the villains that will appear in the Arkham Knight game when it releases in June.
The series features art from Viktor Bogdanovic and Art Thibert, and is written by Peter J. Tomasi who has also worked on Nightwing, Green Latern Corps, Brightest Day, and Batman and Robin. You can pick up the series in its digital form now for $0.99 for each individual chapter, or $3.99 for the Collected Edition. The next three chapters – which feature Harley Quinn on the cover – will be released digitally every week starting on March 13 with Arkham Knight #4, then #5 and #6 following on March 20 and March 27, respectively. No Collected Edition for this next three-chapter arc has been announced.
To celebrate the Collected Edition’s release, DC is giving away 50 copies to their followers on Twitter. Entering the drawing is simply a matter of tweeting out your “favorite Batman Arkham moment” with the hashtag #DCArkhamKnight before the contest closes on March 12 at 11:59PM PST. Full details on the contest, including rules and regulations, can be found on the DC Comics site.
Arkham Knight will be the first game in the Arkham series to receive an ‘M’ rating from the ESRB. It is the fourth game in the series and is scheduled to be released on June 2 for Xbox, PlayStation 4, and PC.
