Localized Attack On Titan Game Coming To 3DS In May

A localized port of the Attack on Titan 3DS game currently available in Japan will be making its way west next month. Attack on Titan: Humanity In Chains was one of the quieter announcements of yesterday’s Nintendo Direct, but one that Attack on Titan fans should definitely take notice of.

Attack on Titan continues to grow in popularity and evolve past more than just an anime and manga series. There is currently a live-action movie in development, a Marvel crossover happened, and it has also spawned an interactive augmented reality game that tasks you with escaping from a Titan attack.

The game will let you play as popular characters from the anime such as Eren, Mikasa, and others. Playing as these characters, you can take down Titans as an Elite Member of the Scout Regiment either alone or with friends in 4-player online and offline co-op. It will also make full use of the C-Stick on the New 3DS XL.

To celebrate the game’s western release, Nintendo has also added the first two episodes of the massively popular anime to the Nintendo eShop, both of which can be downloaded now for free. Similar to the anime, the game will feature the original Japanese audio with English subtitles.

Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains will be released sometime in May for 3DS handheld consoles.
