Whether it was an excitement hangover from the Star Wars trailer, or the overuse of WOOOOMMMS, one thing is for sure – the Batman v Superman trailer caused some conflict on the Internet. Some love it, some hate it, and some wonder why Batman looks like he’s about to attend a rave. Regardless of your thoughts on that first trailer, this retro recut of the trailer is likely to bring a smile to your face.
It features several clips from Adam West’s run as Batman in the ’60s, and Christopher Reeve’s time as the Man of Steel when he appeared in a trio of Sueprman films in the late ’70s and early ’80s. Combined with the ultra-serious tone of the Zack Snyder Batman v Superman, seeing the goofy costumes and over-exaggerated actions of the heroes leads to some great comedic moments (especially towards the end), including that one Batman moment with a bomb that you’ve likely seen in .gif forms hundreds of times.
The actual Batman v Superman – you know, the one starring Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill – is set to release March 25, 2016. It will be directed by Watchmen director Zach Snyder and feature several other well-known DC heroes such as Aquaman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, and more.
