Google Mobile Search Now Shows Real Time Tweets

Google mobile search just got that much better for you Twitter junkies anyway. Google has just announced that mobile search will now show real-time Tweets in search results. Probably an underwhelming announcement to some but it’s actually pretty significant as many times breaking news is found on Twitter. Google isn’t wasting any time with the roll out either, it starts today and you should start seeing results pretty quickly. This will work in any mobile browser using Google search and of course inside the Chrome app and the Google app itself.

Starting today, we’re bringing Tweets to Google Search on mobile devices. So now when you’re searching on the Google app or any browser on your phone or tablet, you can find real-time content from Twitter right in the search results.

Whether you’re interested in the latest from Taylor Swift, news about the #MadMenFinale, or updates on the NBA playoffs, you’ll have access to it directly from Google. Let’s use NASA as an example—just ask the Google app about “NASA Twitter,” and in the search results, you’ll see Tweets from @NASA:

For now the feature is only going to be available on the mobile version of Google but they are working on getting the desktop version working with this feature. What do you think of real-time Tweets being available in Google search results? Is this something that will be useful for you? Let us know in the comments below or on Google+, Facebook and Twitter.
